The movie was really nice and realistic. I learned how hard it was for blacks to make progress back in the days, which shows a bit of the difficulties minorities face today with prejudice and discrimination. It seemed impossible for young kids to do things great like this by themselves and with the help of their coach, but I'm glad that they stuck around and accomplished their goals. Also, Mr.Tolon is really smart, it's like he has an answer for everything and does all the right things at the right time. I wonder if he was so intelligent in real life as he was in the movie. I really liked this movie and learned a lot. Also, you're new background's nice :]
The movie was ok I guess. Kidding I have seen that movie before I just don't remember it. It was a good movie though, I really don't know how to share my opinion on how it went, but I know its a movie so it is all not really except its a true story. Hey you got me trying to talk like I know, the movie was great. : )
I really enjoyed the movie a lot! It was really good:). I liked samantha booke the most because she was the only girl on the debate team. I learned ahout racism and how it can definitely have a deep impact on people. I enjoyed seeing a group of teenagers getting together and having the courage to stand up to others and voice their opinions. I really just enjoyed every part of the movie. It was my second time seeing it, or maybe my third. At times though, i didnt quite understand some of their speeches but for the most part i did. It was an enjoyable movie, and im glad that we were able to see it together in class. :)
I thought "The Great Debaters" was an incredible movie. Usually I do not like historical movies, but I really enjoyed this one. Movies are always more interesting when they are based on true stories. I did not like the racism/discrimination in this movie. At all. It was so terrifying to see one of the African-American men being lynched... It gave me chills. Imagine being Samantha or Henry or Lowe, actually being there to see it. Soooo scary. D: It was my first time watching the movie and it kept me interested.
